What's the trick to wet sanding clearcoat?
Is 1500 to rough? How do i buff with rubbing compond after wet sand

I believe you want to use a 2000 to 3000 grit. I am going to be sanding mine in the next week or two, after the clearcoat cures.

If you wet sand, do it with 2000 grit and keep the surface very wet. You will also HAVE go have a rotary buffer to make the finish look good afterwards. Rubbing compound is what you want to use, and then you will want to step down to a high quality polish. On the compound you will want to use a compounding pad on te buffer and then go to a polish pad on it.

The gritt you use for wet sanding depends on the reason you are wet sanding. You can start with 1500 gritt to get out nibs of trash then you'll have to go back over it with 2000 then 3000 to get thesand scratches out of the finish. then take a buffer (rotory type) with a waffle type compunding pad then use a foam polishing pad with a polihs such as plum crazy by marhide or fenessit by 3-m then after using the buffer you need to come back over it with a hand polish made by 3-m. you can get all these things at an auto piant dealer
