On the Explorer I am getting there is no headliner or shell period. I asked him if he pulled it and it was at his house, he stated no. Ok in the grand scheme of things it is not that big a deal to not have it just ugly as hell looking at the metal roof from the inside.

I live in a small town so there are not that many options when it comes to junk yards here. The two that are real close 1 is a u-pull-it and it is 18.00 if there is one out there; 2nd is one where they pull it and if they have one it is 50.00.

What other options do I have to install something that looks like a fabric covered roof. I read somewhere about gluing the fabric straight to the metal roof but I am not sure about that option.

What other options can ya'll think of for a solution or did ya'll do something different if you were in this situation.

Thanks...

why dont u see if the yards have it first?

also, if you go to the classified section, there are plenty of people parting out 2nd gens.

I would get one from one of the yards. The cutouts and contour are there, they fit, and nothing else is going to look right... :)

Gotta agree and if the yards don't have one you could always ck craigslist. Also IMO I would never attempt to glue fabric straight to the sheet metal you need a removable panel to access the wires, the variation in temp of the roof will be so great that glue won't hold long, and to be honest it probably won't look much better than it does without it. Also for $18 at the u-pull you probably won't be able to beat that price by doing it your self. I mean 3M spray adhesive is like $5 a can plus the cost of fabric and how are you going to hold it in place while the glue dries. Also if the junk yard headliner doesn't match you can go to wal-mart and buy the fabric dye it's usually with the laundry det. costs like 3 bucks a bottle, buy a $1 spray bottle and mix the dye with hot water and mist on. Done this to my headliner, sunvisors, carpet on the door panels and the carpet and it works great. Oh yeah better wear gloves takes forever to wear off. Good Luck

It takes me 3hrs to build one. for $18, TAKE IT!!! six bucks an hr is a waste of time, i spend twice that at a movie.

I'd honestly send you $50 to ship me a sunroof one~!

It is 18 if they have one but I won't be able to go out there till Saturday. I am just trying to get my ducks in a row in case they dont have one.
