Selling the house...getting a bit of money.
i want to know if a 4.0 long block (installed)...4" suspension/lift(installed)...rims and tires (1000.00 ish package)...paint(same color), would be in that price range? I could go as high as 15,000$ max.
what would you do for 12-15,000?

You can pay for a semester for me at college:p

Send the truck to a good fab shop or build your self a nice solid axle setup and forget about an "out of the box" lift kit.

For $12K... Tires, wheels, solid axle swap, lockers and gears front and rear, Atlas II, rock sliders, roll cage. That should do pretty darn well...

Buy another house an parlay the money, as a watch and clock dealer, that market is hot as is the diamond market and emeralds, but you knew that, bag the truck stuff, just putting your bucks down an endless pit

sounds great but my main concern is the 250,000 miles i have on the engine...it runs great but it has an oil leak(not from the pan) so i thought maybe a long block but i have no idea how much it woould cost for the block and the install. I want to do more than just the engine! and remember rick this is my daily driver!
BTW rick...sorry...you know what i mean. i never properly said it.
dbuc.

Yeah, that out of state tuition kills me. But it would be big tax deduction for next year for ya. For that price range you can get a extremely capable rig from a good shop.

yeah gems and jewelery and high end watches for that matter are booming...but i have the money budgeted already...25,000 to 30,000 down on a house in hickory,NC and the rest for cars , moving and a little furniture.

Looks who talking mister,Mac Intake,Apten chip,Magnaflow Single catback,Lowered 1.3/8 inch rear only,Rancho 5Ks, EE swaybar,EE Hoodscoop,3.73 diff with powertrax,265/60/18 Kumho Ecstas STX, rollin on Moda 7s. :) :) :) . Seriously, don't break yourself over your truck but keep some fun money by all means. What else are you working so hard for?

Who in their right mind would add another 4.0 to their X? It's 347 time baby!

would rather keep my gas mileage in the teens rather than the single digits!

All depends on what block you choose and what you do to the engine.

I'd throw a diesel engine in there! :)

I second the diesel.

Seeming as how your X doesn't sound like its doing to well maybe you should think about picking up another on for a daily driver. I got my 99 with the 302 and AWD for 10k

That list is enough to make anybody with anything offroad worthy drool. I would definetly consider at least some of these options, especially with an extra 12k in your wallet.

My thoughts exactly. If your current X is stock, and you have 12,000 to spend, get a newer vehicle for say 8k, and then spend 4k in mods. You'll have a much nicer product in the end. Though, if you already have alot into her, you probubly know where you want to go. Think about long run costs and goals before you drop $$$ into your ride.
