What causes this? When It happens the ex chokes and sputters with rpms in the low 500-700 range.
The exhaust is soo rich you can smell the gas from inside with the windows up!
O2 sensor?
Or something else?

My guess would be the O2 sensor, or a disconnected/malfunctioning MAF in open loop.

faulty fuel pressure regulator, O2's, MAS are the common culprits.

Check the vacume line on the fuel pressure regulator first:D

where is the fuel pressure regulator? and the vac lines for it?
I cleaned the MAF and the problem hasnt surface again but... I just wanna make sure

Passenger side up on the fuel rail, one metal line one plastic one, check the plastic one for gas.If there is gas in it then it is blown

From the title of the thread, I would have to say it must be her lawyer :D

Make sure you change the oil right away if you ever have a situation like this. Anytime raw gas is coming out of the exhaust you can be sure it is being dumped into the block as well. I have seen many spun bearings on vehicles with pressure regulator problems or soaked floats in old carbed vehicles.

Listen to CONavajo when my FPR went the oil was full of gas.
