99 Ranger 4x4 XLT Ext. Ca
1999 Ranger 4x4 xlt ext cab 4.0L 5r55e tranny. With '03 engine, wire harness, ignition, pcm, and issues.

I picked this thing up with issues and have been trying to get them resolved. I took it to a very good tranny man and he said he got codes that did not pertain to my vehicle. "Like it has a different year computer". Sure enough, after investigating, I found what I listed above. I thin the code he mentioned was "intermittent speed sensor" not sure though and I do not have any more to list here now, except for a flashing OD-OFF light that come on after I have been driving for a short time. The OD button does work again after I fixed the broken wires at the base of the shifter.

Since the previous owner(s) put in '03 wirering there seems to be an extra wire for my tranny that does not go anywhere. From pictures I found on this site it looks as if the wire is supposed to go to the ISS. (?) So my question is if I do not have an ISS on my tranny, what should I do with the wire? I feel it is the cause of the flashing OD-OFF light.

It would be the green plug in question below. The picks of the trannies are comparrisons w/ & w/out the ISS.

Thank for your help,
MNBen

Does anybody know who might know the answer to that so I could pm them?

I have since sold this truck. I do not think I ever found where the green plug went. The black plug went to the top of the tranny which I accessed from under the carpet/cup holder inside the truck.
