What do you think about this Ford emblem?

I got an idea from a Ranger to put a Ford emblem on my billet grille in the corner to give it a custom look. Today I got a few emblems from the junkyard and I thought I would give it a shot and see how I like it. First thing I did was make the background black. Then I put it on, and I think I like it.

What do you guys think about this? I need some opinions because I'm not 100% sure I like it yet.

I don't like it there. I think that it should be front and center, but that's just me.

I don't like the way Volvo has theirs either...it looks funny to me.

I like the clean, symetrical look.

It is ok. For some reason it makes me laugh though. Not due to the look or anything. It reminds me of a redneck with his hat tilted waaaaay over and his head crooked. lol. Sorry maybe it is just me. Been looking at too many clouds lately. lol. i also just thought that it reminds me of a dog with its tongue hanging out the side while panting. lol. God i am disturbed. Does anyone else see the similarity? Well Hartman i still have not decided if i like it yet or not. But it does make it look different and i dont think it makes it look bad otherwise i would have not liked it right away. I would say try it for a while and see if it grows on you. And if you end up not liking it just unbolt it.

i tried that before with mine and ended up removing it. i just don't think it looks better than not having one at all. maybe you need a lumilogo behind your grille...

i like it alot man... its clean.. it's new too.. never seen anybody do that before.. it reminds me of the range rover.. whatever you do, don't poSe! thats something unique man! keep it! i dont really like the regular "CUSTOM" grill work every 3 outta five explorers have.. it seems like every explorer owner who does the grill work thinks their the only ones with it.. Putting the emblem there makes it stand out man.. KEEP IT

just fyi- there was a truck in truckin' mag about two years ago with an emblem like that. i think it was an f150. not saying he's copying, just saying that it isn't a completely new idea.

Others remove logos for a clean look. You already have a clean look. I think it's a step back.

BTW... How do you open your hood if you can't stick your hand through the grill to unlatch it? I always wonder about that...

I don't open my hood, ever. If there comes a point where I need to access anything under my hood, I have to cut a whole in the center of the hood with a sawzall. It's a high price to pay but I sure do love the look of the billet grille.

Very funny... really... did Ford made this design where the hood latch is inside the grille on 95-97 only? Or did you use some sort of Solenoid or something?

I say keep it there. For awhile at least. Then if you still don't like it, take it out and move it to the center. So on and so.

I do like it there. It looks good. The only thing I am not a fan of is the changeing the color of the Ford Logo. I take pride in my Ford Blue Oval!

Latch through the grill? wow? i never knew explorers had the latch through the grill.. I thought once you pop the hood you can stick ur fingers under to grab the latch? I gotta mountaineer so theres no way i can stick my fingers through the grill!

Can't you just poke a stick up there somehow to unhook the latch?
