Can someone tell me the name of this part. Just past the muffler towards the engine.

Needs to be replaced.

Picture not loading. Just north of the muffler is a connecting joint on the pipe. It has rusted out and is jiggling causing a noisy muffler. I can also smell exhaust. The joint has a bolt with springs on each side?

The muffler guy has not looked at it yet but he believes he knows what the problem is. Gave me a quote of 50 bucks to fix.

What is it called?

Exhaust pipe flange. You will also need the gasket that goes between the two rusted out flanges.

I just got done doing mine. Best is to replace both flanges. Walker makes both sides.

fix

Hello

I fixed mine with the Nickson split flange years ago.
you also need the gasket + alot of luck.

I just replaced all pipes from the converter back on saturday.
The Nickson flange was still working fine. The rest rotted away.

I currently still using half the flange for the new pipes.
And Yes another new gasket.

:salute:
