Well it's about time for a tune up and I would like to change out all the fluids with synthetic. What do you guys perfer? What works well for you? I would like to do ATF as well.
Fluids? Ah crap, knew I forgot to put someting in the engine/transmission/differntials
But seriously, the only fluid I kept track of was the engine oil - Mobil 1 synth since thats what I always bought when my Explorer was a daily driver. But since its no longer a DD, I put whatever looks good
At one point I ran gear oil in the transfer case (manual one) for a few thousand miles -- seemed to work fine, transfer case still works today.
i use napa brand gear lube and chevron ATF in my transfercase. i run chevron 5w30 in the crank case but i am going to try quaker state 4X4 tq power full synthetic 5w30. i bought a 5 quort thing of that stuff yesterday. I still have 900 miles till my oil change though.
i just put a brand new motor in my truck and am going to only use 5w30 castrol syntec (i get it for real cheap so that influences my decision) and i have a case of Donaldson P169071 synthetic filters (had to buy a case of 12, but got a really good deal)
so i should be set for a few years LOL
