What Headunit are you using

I have the Pioneer Premier DEH-P930 and I love it. Previously I had the Pioneer FH-P8800 and that was a good unit too.

Leenjen, are those new Denons coming to the US? I had heard that they were only going to be sold in Japan. Did you see that the DCT-Z1 is going to cost $2400?

Thats nothing. I'm getting the new Pioneer AVX-P7300DVD w/ AVM-P900R processor for my Scooby. That's setting me back $2400 before speakers, amps, and subs. But it's SOOOO worth it, to me anyway.

the new Denon headunits are already available in the US.

these guys are really nice. they're very helpful and will answer all of your questions (they actually know about the products they carry, unlike a lot of other places). if you email them, Kevin will usually get back to you that day or the next.

i really do like sony headunits. they are really impressive. BUT for 2002 Sony discontinued the ES series . if i was going to buy a sony HU, it would be an ES. i couldnt find any specs for the preamp outputs on the new sony models. if they have some with 5V or better, then GREAT. but i dont think they do.

i didnt realize the new sony headunits had 5.5 volt outputs. that really helps. that model that you linked has everything that i'm looking for except a subwoofer output
but i was still seriously considering it. then i clicked the price break button and i saw that it is out of stock. does anyone know any online stores that sell the new sony headunits?

I wouldn't get a Pioneer with Easy EQ, which is just about everyone of them. I have the Premier 730 and I am constantly messing with the sound. The EEQ causes so much sibilance, and it's hard to adjust my outboard EQ because of the EQ already in the headunit. Every CD sounds different so it's back to messing with the sound. Eclipse, Alpine, Clarion, Kenwood Excelon and Nakamichi sound awesome to me. I am going to get either an Eclipse, Alpine, or Clarion. Clarions are ugly, Alpines look alright but kind of plain and I hate that rotating thing just make your headunit bright enough to see, Eclipses look FOB from Japan and the display isn't bright either, so it's a tough decision. Anybody want to buy my Premier? Lots of pretty graphics. Oh for more problems with Pioneers, look on Sounddomain.com under headunit help in the forum area. You will find more than half the people that have run Pioneers hate them.

I wish I would have gotten the 930 too, but I bought my 730 when it first came out. Maybe my ears just suck or something, because a lot of people like the Pioneers. To each his own.
