What is the right ECM for my 88 ford ranger XLT with a 2.3L manual trans federal emissions
The one in my truck is a E8TF-12A650-AB3B don't know if its right or the wrong one from a junk yard.
There is also a old federal emissions recall that a old mechanic thinks had something to do with the calibration/programing of the ECM
"Calibrations 8-49G-R00 & R10 and 8-49T-R00 & R10 only"
(these are codes for ECM programs as i have found other site that list them as such)
http://www.autopart.com/ecc/ECC1995FORDWINDSTAR.htm

The parts place i go to has 4 listed but can not tell me which is the specific one for my truck. they don't have the specification on each and just replace with what is in the customers truck. (could be the wrong one from a junk yard.)
Why have 4 listed if they fit all 88 rangers with a 2.3L manual trans.

Then to try to understand i went to the ford dealer.
They have not listing for a E8TF--AB3A
They do have a list for E8TF--AB1A and AB2A BUT nothing for a AB3A.
But the counter guy said his listing for my truck is E8TF-12A650-L1A or L2A

now i am confused

I have been trying to smog this truck and having no luck. and just want to make sure i have the RIGHT ECM
I have this on another thread http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=314899

Also i was wondering if i made the modifications to the truck for Calif emissions equipment whatever they are.
Plus put a Calif ECM in the truck. (I don't plan to tell the smog people and plan to keep letting them smog it as a fed smog truck. i have done this on a 77 ford F250 and the engine can run like c**p and it will still easily pass.)
what would happen

This fits with my thought on the other post that you may have the wrong injectors. Go to the ford truck web site: http://www.ford-trucks.com/ and there is a poster with the handle of "number dummy" who may be able to tell you the exact calibration/software for your vehicle, and may be able to tell you if someone substituted injectors. There is a Ranger specific sub-forum where you can post the question.

Using NipponDenso E59E A2B injectors rated at 143cc/min

This is a 13.619 lb/hr injector
