2003 Explorer Sport
I have been looking for a while and have searched many different posts on rims but couldnt find which rim would fit my 2003 sport. I was on summits website and i like the cragar soft 8. I want the stock 16 inch rim size to go with my new definity dakota m/t's. which cragar soft 8 rim should i buy? I did not want to just purchase them by the lug pattern because i wasnt sure :/

I think I am just going to buy 1 rim and if it fits i will buy the next 3 if it doesnt then just buy and return til i get the right one... ;)

My guess is that you're not getting alot of responses because it's been asked a few times, they're probably hinting you should search. But my educated guess, because I'm not 100% on this is -4 is the backspacing I think for 15x8.

thats the problem i got new tires and they are to fit a 16 inch rim. You cant put a 15 inch rim on a 3 gen sport because of the rotor diameter, there isnt enough room. so with the 16 inch rim it will space the tire out further and that is what i wanted. this is something i have wanted for a while but have never been able to determine which back space and offset i should obtain. they had a 16x7 and a 16x8 but i wasnt sure which one to get...

How big are your tires, that's what will make the difference, 31s and up I'd get the 16x8, I'm pretty sure on the 8" you can fit up to a 33" maybe larger, that's a question for some of the other guys, if you're going for stock size, then x7" is what you'd probably want, in that case get -3.75, I'm pretty sure that's stock backspacing, I always forget the offset I think it's -4 or -9. Again something you might want to do a search on. Or just take the original rims in and have them tell you. I'm sure an auto shop should be able to tell you exactly what you're after.

well the idea was to buy the rims online from sumitt so thats why i was trying to figure out what size to get i plan on getting 33 in the future so i dont want to have to get rims twice

Roadbully has 16x8 with -12 offset and 4" backspace on his 3rd gen ex. it looks great and no clearance issues.
