what size tires with 16's ???

i have stock teardrop 15's on my 96 xlt 4 door now, with 31's. everything fits fine. i'm looking to put on 16" cobra r rims and i need to know what the biggest size tire is that i can fit on those rims without rubbing. i know some sport run stock 16's, so i'm guessing the biggets tire they can run would be the same for me. any input would be great and thank you.

stock i had a 255/70R16 (30), you can go up to 275/70R16 (31) or maybe even a 265/75R16 (32") with trimming.

i really don't want to have to trim, so 275/70R16 (31) would fit without rubbing you think? i checked tirerack for bfg at's in that size and man are they expensive, $160 ea., but oh well.

hey, thanks arnie. you have the setup i'm sorta looking for except i want cobra r's. those bfg's look good. if i can go bigger i will, but those might be what i want. thanks.
