What SUV would you have if you didn't have an explorer?

Uh..If i could have any vehicle I would either want a 2001 Excursion Limited 4X4 with 7.3 liter Powerstroke diesel, a 2001 F350 4 door crew cab 4X4 with 7.3 liter powerstroke diesel, or I guess a 2002 Explorer Limited 4X4 4.6 liter V-8 wouldn't be bad.

Too bad I don't have that kind of money though ;-(

The Baby Nav is to far off for me,thats why i put a deposit
on a 2001.5 Lightning.I'll keep the Lightning,and in three
years i'll get the Baby Nav.

FRITZ
"98" Sport SOHC 4X4.......

98 ranger soiled axels ex cab and all the off road goodes

If there is no EXPLORER I would take a Porsche 911 Carrera4(Model:964) or the old BMW M5.

My father have/had them and so I drove them-they are great!

...and if I had mo money I would get some Porsche 911 GT2 and a HUMMER(4door-softtop).One for on- and one for off-highway.

But thank God that he gave us the EXPLORER!!

Well....

for me this is sorta a loaded question...appearance-wise I love the looks of the 4Runner but I know I could never fit in it (6'8")...so my only other option would be to go with a Chevy Tahoe. The Expedition, Excursion, and Suburban's are too big for my liking. On a side note, its about friggin' time Chevy smoothed out its larger SUV's. The Tahoe and Suburban have been "Boxes with wheels" for long enough. Finally they cleaned them up...

If money were no object, I would go with a Hummer or a Range Rover. Roomy and Big. Just like I like em!

See, I dont like a lot of body cladding on a car, I like a real clean exterior. I find something like a 4 Runner ugly because of that fact. Thats also why I dislike the hatch on 98+ Explorers.

I would take a 2dr Chrokee or a Land Rover Defender 90.

If I could not have an Explorer.... First I would Die cause the explorer is great!!!!

If I had to... I would think a 95 Full size Bronco 4x4 or an Expedition 4x4.

Expeditions are awful offroad guys. Last year during our yearly caravan to our hunt club in West Virginia a customer of mine had his brand new Navigator. In order to get back to the house you have to wind back trough some real easy trails, but if its been raining (it had) watch out because it gets very muddy. This is just how easy it is to get back there, I've driven my Lexus once and my old Cadillac twice. Well yes, the Navigator was the only vehicle to get stuck.

Well, I suppose if you put 100% street tires on a big heavy Navigator, it will not make it. I like my Dunlops, but they don't grip well on the rear wheels when the pavement is wet. I may have to put some weight in the back this winter.

Wow I thought I was the only tall one on the board! Although I still have you beet by about a half inch :). Anyways, the Expeditions look pretty sweet, and I've been seriously looking at them, how much they'd cost, how much they'd cost to modify, etc. The newer F-150's are pretty sweet too :). I agree though, it stinks being tall.. you ckind of have to choose your vehicle not based on features, power, looks... but rather what ones you fit in.

Hey, Matt--no worries, mate...I found your next car:

Dead Link Removed

So roomy, you can even stand up and wave to your adoring masses!

....NO - Pontiac Aztec - NO. What is that? A suv, a minivan, WHAT? - - -

Definately a Navigator...Drove a friends...NICE...Would be afraid to get it dirty (what would be the point?). Outranked all SUV's in its class (except for my Navajo!). The XTERRA did awful, even looks funky.

I had the same problem with mine. I once spun out on mine. I was turning left onto a normally busy parkway after a rainstorm one morning when all of the sudden, the truck goes wild and I start doing 360s...luckily the road was pretty much deserted. I wasn't driving that fast ( I was accelerating from a stoplight, uphill). Scared the piss out of me, as I had only had my license for about a month.

Technically, it's a minivan. It's built on the Pontiac Montana/Chevrolet Venture/Oldsmobile Silhouette platform.

But my Lexus made it through there! Wasn't as wet but still!

I like this one...

Unlike the Aztek, I think the VehiCROSS is a work of art, kinda like a Picasso. The Aztek is just vomit.

yuck

Yeesh! I must say, I don't like the looks of that thing any better than an Aztekkkk. That retro look is just going too far. It looks like it has the klumps.

If I had to choose, probably an Expedition. I do know what would NOT want, the BMW, Mercedes or Accura SUV. In their case SUV means Sport Utility Van.

1990-91 Isuzu Trooper. Before they became grocery getters to compete with the US market, they were off-road ready right out of the factory.

If I couldn't have my Explorer any more, I would take a Wrangler. I live at the Beach and love the top off, doors off aura of the Wrangler. But I'll never really be in anything but an Explorer. Unless I get a family, then I'll get a Navigator
