Im lookin for a new set of tires for my 94 X. I do a lot of higyway driveing but at the same time like to take it in mud sand and this fall ill be goin to western colorado and be on lose sand and rock. What would be my best bet for the combination in a tire?

Thanks to any thoughts or sugestions.

Here is my opinion based on what's on my 94.Goodyear Wrangler OWL's suck, they have good tread life and traction but go out of round quick causing vibration and what not.I balance and rotate regularly and have replaced 4 of them in less then 20,000 miles.

There are a bunch of different wranglers,by the way.I have Prodigy's on my 2000 but they are P tires not LT's.BFG AT's get good reviews,go to discount tire.com and look at all of the tires and reviews.:D

i hate all good year tires, they are horrible.

I'm running BFG AT's. 31x10,5

i'm on my second set. first set lasted a long time (about 40,000 miles) they aren't horrible on gas, they do pretty good in the mud, they last a long time, they aren't extremely loud.

my only problem with them is i have heard (and i think its the case with mine too since i get a little vibration at 60mph+) that they don't stay balanced well for some reason.

i have 31" Goodyear wrangler territory's, and i love them. they do pretty good off road, and very good in the snow. i only use them as winter tires now.

Anyone ever tried master craft tires? saw some the other day and looked Awesome!

BFG ATs!

Check out the general grabber a/t 2. They are a great tire with a great price tag. I would buy them again in a heart beat.

As far as the tires going out of round, "a tire is a tire, round a black". They will all do it, it is the nature of the vehicle. I rotate and balance every oil change and there is always one or two that are out of balance. Of course I can afford to balance every time because I do it where I work. Most of the tires out there are made by either chinese or koreans. Find one that is as aggressive as you can stand and get it. Good luck wheelin.

thanks guys... right now im lookin in Good Year Wrnagler MT/R/ real agressive an ive been told not to noisy on the freeway

I am looking to put 31/10.50/15 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's on the 94 next year maybe,it depends on if I manage to lift the truck or not.I might just go with 235/75/15's for now and switch them to the 2000 if I manage to do the changeover to 4x4 from AWD.

So many projects and so little time.:D

Firestone Destinations... They are great wet dry snow tires for the 'X'. The price is right and they are much more stable on teh road. Soft sand and mud... I cannot speak for that. I don't think you can get 1 tire to be a good highway tire and throw the mud
