WHat to do to make my A4Ld last awhile?

ok i replaced my trans with one that had close to 70,000 miles on it..I had the shop look at it before they installed it and they said everything looks good.i was told if i stay out of Overdrive then it will last longer?Is that True if so overdrive is the first D not the Second on the shifter on the concosle?

Don't tow in overdrive, install a large transmission cooler & an external filter.

i am sure there is a write up on how to install a trans cooler but i cant find it when i search and put it in,all pops is people that have said something about it..if that makes any sense
