I was just wondering what would be the biggest baddest set of tire I could get to fit on my stock 93 XLT w/ 15" rims. I am looking into making some mods to my ride, but don't really want to invest in a lift for it. I may be willing to invest in some 16" rims, but that about all. I am more interested in getting a good sounding exhaust. Anyway, I want something that will look mean and maybe stick out on the sides a little. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

31" mud terrain tires on 15" rims with 3.25" backspace. With a 2" body or suspesion lift you could fit 32's.

What kind of tire are you looking for? Street or A/T?

What will fit?

I would rather get A/T. I have the wonderful Firestone Wilderness right now, allthough they are supposidly not the ones killing everybody. I will probably stick some 16" rims on, what will that do for the size of tire I can cram in there. How much would a lift like this cost. Give me a break, i am new at this. Would I have to do any other modificaitons if I stuck a 2" lift on?

Thanks

Going to 16" rims will cause your wallet to collaps much faster. Tires for 16" rims cost quite abit more than for 15" rims. Just something to think about.

If you want and A/T the BFG A/T KO is real nice. To be honest you are better off with 15's. The 16" tires are more expensive. A 15" BFG KO is $104 and a 16" BFG KO is $143. If you already have the 15's then keep them. If you are getting rims and tires then get 15's, you'll be better off in the long run. You can fit 31's with no mods, but I have seen guys here put 33's on with 3" body lifts and some mild modifications. You could probably get a set or 32's on without a problem. I can fit 32's right now, but it would be tight.

How will they look?

If I leave my stock 15" wheels on or buy some new 15"s, how do you get those tires to stick out on the sides a little bit? Also, it looks like the body lift is not real easy to do. I was just wondering if a suspension lift is any eisier to do. How is the price comparison. Also you guys say I could fit some 33" under if I put a 2" or 3" lift on? I am also looking into putting a new exhaust under the explorer. What do you suggest? I am looking for something that will sound mean with a nice deep mellow tone at idle. I would like to get a cat-back system that will split after the muffler to give the dual exhaust look. Any suggestions?

Thanks for all the help.

How far they stick out really depends on how wide the tire is and the backspacing of your rim. A smaller backspace will make them stick out more.

Both body lifts and suspension lifts are hard to do. Most kits require some modifications. If you have the right tools and enough time you can do it. A suspension lift for your truck after all is said and done is about a grand and a body lift is about $100.

To fit 33's you'll have to do some modifications to make them fit, i.e. fenders and bumper placement.

Can't say much about exhausts, but I hear the Borla Catback is a nice one.
