What tranny do I have?

Hey guys. I have an '03 2wd. I need to know what transmission I have. It does have a dipstick, but I was hoping someone could tell my how to decode the VIN number to find out the exact model. I am trying to buy a tranny filter kit, but the description at the local Advance (i'm an AutoZone guy, but in this case Advance is cheaper) says 4spd auto, but it lists A4LDE, 4R44E, and 5R55e. I want to make sure I get the right one so I am not bumming a ride back to the store after I have dropped the pan. Please help!

Your profile says 94, but you want to find out what an 03 has. Is this correct? The 02-04 has a 5R55W without the dipstick. The 94 A4LD has a dipstick. This link is in # 48 in my list of useful threads: Dead Link Removed. If you have a dipstick on your year which is listed, and you have a 5 speed transmission, then you have the 5R55E.

Sorry, I never got around to editing my profile. I do have an '03 Sport Trac with the 5spd auto with a dipstick. So, I guess that gives me the 5R55e?
