What triggers "Door ajar" light ?

Hi -

Friend's 2003 XLT v8 has door ajar light. Everything is closed, there are no switches on the door jams. What controls that ?

If the doors are closed, two things can cause this. First is the switch on the latch. Second, and I've never seen it personally, is the wire harness in the door jamb has broken wires. Check the wire harness... free, or change the bad switch... a bit costly.

Thank you both. I just watched it. I did not realize the switch is internal, not like old style push switch that you could see.
