Do you have swirls/spiderwebbing? Are you looking for a deep shine or long lasting protection?

You are probably going to get a million different opinions, but heres mine:

Meguiars NXT!!!

I love this stuff. If you use some Meguiars #80 speed glaze with your buffer first and then a coat of NXT you will be amazed with the results. I hang out over at the Meguiars forums a lot and this combo is highly recommended (since your paint is in good shape).

What "Type" of buffer? Porter Cable 7424, Wen, sears, etc.
It DOES make a difference in recommendations.

Zaino shines like nothing I have ever seen.
It is SO easy to use, you will not believe it.
visit. The shine and longevity will bring you to tears.

Although it is a bit costly to get the ball rolling.

I have a black X and use meguiars polish/carnuba wax but to buff the truck I use 3M compound and polish. I use an air buffer but you can burn the paint easy if you dont watch out.

Turtlewax 2001

Nu Finish. If its good enough for Drapers 'Stang, its good enough for my X.

Agreed. Rather expensive, but well worth the $15.

clay your truck first, no matter what wax, but sense u asked, mcquires, gold class :)

If you're looking for a definitive answer, you won't get it. Wax is like your favorite beer - everyone has one.

My recommendation would be to head over to Autopia.org and read their reviews. Most of us here use what we use or learned our technique from reading folks' messages and how-to's there.

Good luck!

That's damn right......(mine's Heineken :-D)

Adam's Butter Wax is some very nice stuff.

Tho not really a wax, Zaino is the easiest I have ever used ( and I have tried almost everything on the market ).

The shine is amazing and really lasts in the harsh Florida sun.

Take a look at http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc

When asking about "wax", you will get as many different answers as to what is best as there are colors in the rainbow.

Good luck....

NXT was hard on my black car IMO, i liked the new turtle wax liquid the best. Easy to apply and remove, and looks great.

Read the reviews. I believe a good carnuba wax is leading the pack right now. Several different brands are available.

BUT, before you wax, you MUST get the surface ready to take it. If you haven't used a clay bar on your truck, that is a good starting point. I am using P21S on my Explorer and when that can is gone, will try Zaino's wax. But wax is like a good beer, the more you pay, the better the results. Check out my detail thread, I went through about 8 steps before waxing to get my surface ready and glad I did every one. But the problem is, that the surface is so good, I don't know which step really did the best job.

Also, since you are in Houston, would be glad to meet up with you and let you see my finish. It is actually smoother than glass.

Six zillon different answers.
Quite a big help we are

Good luck man :)
