What year motors fit in my 04?

hey guys im new to the forum and the explorer world. i recently bought an 04 thats blown up (rod through the cylinder) and i wass wondering what year 4.0 SOHC's i can put in this thing. any help is appreciated.

Any 4.0L SOHC long block will work. I would swap in a 05-09 mustang V6....but that's just me.

No, you wouldn't get more power.....it is the same motor as what you already have. You would use your intake and exhaust manifolds (along with other parts). You WOULD be able to get a "low" milage motor for cheap.
