What years was 5r55w used

I've got a 2002 XLT 4.0L that dropped a valve (185k miles). The trans and engine are original and I bought it new. The rest of the truck is in good shape and I know I can swap in any year SOHC 4.0L long block. That is no big deal. The harder thing is that while it is apart, I would like put in a newer lower mile transmission.

What years was the 5r55w used? Can they all swap with mine?

A used 5R55W with over 60K miles might have issues with the servo bores & solenoid block. You're better off rebuilding the one that's in there. There's no way to know what kind of condition a used one is in.
