I was using the link for an example to the subs. I personally am not a fan of any 15s.

some more......
Focal - bass and SQ but $$$
Digital Designs - SPL but $$$
Shocker Audio - SPL but $$$
MA Audio - SPL SQ sometimes $$$, sometimes not.

Do not go with Crystal CMP's-essentially you're only paying for a huge magnet-as i learned a while back-they need more than average airspace to function and they require 1600 watts RMS to function (800 per voice coil) in the long run it's not worth it, just stick to all the brands that have been mentioned Kicker, Fosgate, JL, Audiobahn, and if you like Alpine go w/type R's i had some and they hit pretty hard!

I just ordered 2 12" Coustic Carbon Fiber Subs. I picked them up becuase they had a 75oz magnet and dual voice coil with a 400rms rating. The sony explode amp is 760 watts so it should be just enough. I'll let you know how they sound in a week.
* I had 2 12" Sony Explodes and they sounded ok. They blurred my vision when i turned them up as loud as I could, only did that once. heh:confused:

WOW 21.6 lbs for one 12"

Ummm, what are you talking about? 75 oz. is only 4.7 lbs. I have some Resonant Engineering 12 SE's that have a 350 oz triple stack magnet that weigh 22lbs.

hah

hah, weight has nothing to do with performance, BUT for the sake of showing off: my last Adire Audio Brahma 12" weighed 39lbs

if you want crazy I believe Shocker Sig 12"s(pure SPL no music for them) weigh in around 45+lbs

I would have to say either the MA Audio XE 12" as a great price right now on ebay, or the Adire Audio Shiva 12", friend just swapped them with XEs (Same box same amp, less power because it is a lower impendence load), and we were amazed byt the lowend improvement specifically around 35Hz while the XEs were obviously louder at 61Hz in the SPL lanes, this sub according the RTA we used should max at 51Hz ... This was all in a mustang

No no no, im just saying "wow" never seen a 12" that small and not even that high in RMS weigh 22+ lbs. Sorry for the misunderstanding

i got 12" xe's should be here today or tomorrow i'll let everyone know, my amp wont be enough for them though, might have to sell it......

oh, I did misread. But don't underestimate those SEs, they like 1000 watts, heh. Have you seen the 10" SE to the wall? of course it was at 8ohm, and the box was tuned to 55Hz giving an extra impendence spike at 60Hz (60Hz is also a wall's freq) so all in all it was about 1000 watts at 60Hz nonstop for 30 minutes, it's on a video if you want me to link it (i'll go look for it)

looks cool too.

oh, and for fun I'm actually prolly going to be buying me an 18" x.. to shove in my explorer sometime soon.

Dont hurt yourself!!!!! :p :p :p
:D

no worry I don't have enough power to hurt myself; I only have two 1600 watt amps

Could you post that link? :)

I take part of my statement back: 15minutes, not 30, I was wrong there. But you gotta admit 15 minutes is damn crazy:

25meg:

smaller:

you may need a codec, windows media player 9 I belive:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/format/codecdownload.aspx

Funny thing is, that box you see in the video is tuned to 60 Hz, so the impedance there is relatively low compared to the frequencies around it (it falls between the two impedance peaks surrounding tuning). Using winISD, with the coils in series, the impedance sits right about at 10 ohms, which is still 1440 watts.

I could email it to you, or if you have a fast connection I could send it to you tomorrow between 9:10 am to 10:40am

other thasn those times I'm always on a slower modem, BUT I'd love to show it to you, I'll put it on a CDRW and transfer it to my friend's email who could send it.
