Well my story starts last year. Where I went to Moab for the first time in my X. Well, as I was going over Elephant Hill, I noticed a nice strong leak, tranny fluid. A couple days pass and the shifting starts jumping and disengaging for a little while. So I start putting fluid in, and try and make it back to WP. Well that didn't happen, I blew that tranny, so I got a rebuilt one $1700 later.
Well ever since, I have had nothing but trouble with it. hoses coming loose, seals blowing, I even got dirt in there somehow?? I have been to this repair place about 5 times after I got the new tranny. Now I thought that they are scamming me, but the tranny came with a year warranty, so I don't pay them at all for their work. Well last week I went to Moab again expecting to have tons of fun. 2 days later, on Top of the World trail, my friends yelled at me to STOP!! I got out a saw that another gasket had broke where the tranny connects to the engine. Fluid is pouring out, not dripping. Luckly I made it back to camp, where the Ford dealership fixed it 2 days later!!! So much for that trip again.
Is it just bad luck or what??? ARG!!
