Thought I would let you all know, a few days ago I posted problems with my tranny while elk hunting. Tranny slipped out of gear, fluid poured out, and caught fire. Would not move in any gear.

Well I discovered my pan gasket was leaking and the fluid got to a hazardously low level. The tranny heated up and started "cooking" the fluid. Once tranny fluid gets to a certian temp. it will start to foam... Well once it foamed and started boiling it poured out the overflow tube located on the tranny. Once it hit the exhaust it caught on fire. Using a cool head I shut the engine off immediately and put out the fire with a water bottle. I never started it again and towed it back to the pavement with the 4wd Grizzly ATV (life saver: for this and backing the Elk out).

Long story short.. took it in to someone I could trust( Columbia Ford in Longview WA ) pulled the pan and found no problem. Serviced the tranny replace the pan gasket and WALLA !!!! NO PROBLEM WITH THE TRANNY..

Just thought everyone could use this info if you run into the same problem.
