Whats it worth? Explorer leaking coolant need to sell

Everything JD said is right... I wouldn't pay more then $500 for a first gen with a bad engine.

Take what ever you can get and stop whining. With a bad motor it isn't worth much-- Would you by something 20 years old that is already broken--- DUH!

Pretty sure if your car took a **** then you'd be pissed too. Thought this forum was full of people who treated people half way decent. Guess i was wrong.

Well this forum is full of helpful folks and full of great information.

However, you Mr Mason with your whopping less than 20 posts told one of our biggest contributors to GTFO your post?! How dare you. Maybe you should read up on forum etiquette.

JD has done way more stuff to his explorer and ranger than you could ever dream, his totals equal well more than 20 grand in mods. He has bought and sold more stuff than you could ever dream of, has helped countless folks on here. I will stick my neck out and say HE KNOWS WTH HE IS TALKING ABOUT.

Back to your lifted explorer with a bad engine, stock crappy automatic, lift and new tires. To me it is worth ummm a grand because it need 7-800 in engine work, not counting axle re-gearing, and ditching the auto for something better.

How do I know it needs 7-800 in engine work? That's because I just did it to mine 6 months ago. That doesn't count a radiator, and a water pump. (I address the entire cooling system at once.)

So to get the most for your money, part it out, and then drag the explorer across the scales and crush it. Or accept the offer already presented to you.

You do realize you asked all of our opinions on what it was worth, and you wont always agree with our answers. You should respect folks that have more knowledge than you. JD's almost 8k posts aren't just fluff, it is real facts. If anyone has more knowledge with a modified 91-94 explorer/ ranger it is him.

Case in point. My 2001 ST sold for $900. Except for the broken engine (timing chain), it was in great condition.

Thats scrap value. One of the problems with the Exploders is they are so popular. That means there are tons of them out there. Its simple supply and demand.

Its sold. Carry on with you day. Where do I delete my account? Don't need to waste my time with Exploders anymore.

Congratulations. Do you mind telling how much you got for it? Surely someone will find this in the future looking for the same answer and it could be helpful.

I purchased a 91 EB for 500 in great shape. I wouldn't pay more than 900 for a first gen
