whats it worth?

Anyone have any ideas to what this explorer would be worth?

My friends dad owns a bodyshop and bought a 96 explorer at auction about 2 years ago to use pieces off of to fix another explorer... so its missing a door or 2, and a few body panels....

The truck i hear is in decent shape and runs and drives. Its got 80,000 miles, V8, AWD.... he is not looking to get rid of it.

I want it for the tranny, Engine, rearend, and wiring harness for a ranger V8 swap. He keeps telling me to make him and offer.... but i have no idea what to offer. I dont know what he paid for it. I was thinking $1K... but dont know if its to much, to little.....

once I pull the pieces off it I need i would just junk it anyways.

what are your thoughts.

Well I stopped and looked at it today... its a POS... LOL.. exactly what i want. I thought my friend said it was in decent shape.... but he must have been smoking something. All the windows and windshield are smashed out, both rear quarters are smashed, interior is totally shot and weathered, no front end,... etc... but its got a running v8, tranny, and 8.8 rearend with 3.73 LS.... its exactly what i need for my V8 swap. I still dont know what to offer him... I say $300 or so, but I have no idea what its with at a scrap yard without an engine....

$500 max. Only thing of value on that truck are the heads/intake.

Id say if you can get the whole drivetrain, harness, ecu, rear diff, etc $500 is a hell of a deal. If I could get it, I'd buy it just for spare parts, heck, Id give $700!

EDIT: What year?? I wouldnt if it wasn't P heads 97.5+

If you are sure the motor and trans are good, and if it only has 80k on it, $500 would be a great deal!
