new spring perch, new U-bolts... possibly custom made U-bolt plates with shock mounts but I think the stock ones work inverted

so just flip the spring perches on the rearend, lengthen the u-bolts, and flip the shock mounts?

I think you could still just flip the bolts, this would help with clearance too

Yes it works:

so just need new perches welded on, and flip the u bolts?

This seems maybe to easy, but what if you pulled a ranger axle thats already spring over and just put it under the EXP? Would it work?

Was going to look into doing the same to mine this weekend, I mean to see if it will work.

cant see why not

I think different spring perch width - Ranger springs are outboard of the chassis (hence the upside down shackle), Explorers are inline (directly under).

who woulda figured, but thinking of it, it makes sense

Plus the Ranger has a less-cool 8.8.

Didnt know for sure. Was gunna crawl under and look and measure this weekend. Because I have one laying in the garage! But oh well, so much for my easy swap!
