Ok I picked up a set of coil spacers on here and they are for the f150 2wd. They have an offset center hole and a prong that hangs down.

Can they be used on a 4wd?

I bought a set of f150 spacers from a buddy when he took them off his Ex and they are somewhat rounder hole is centered and there is no prong hanging down.

We found several 2wd spacers at salvage yard but tossed them when we realized the hole was not centered and the prong looked like it would interfere with the ibeam.

So can someone clear this up for me? Here is a pic of the spacers I got and I will try to find a pic of the spacers I bought from my buddy.

I'm not too sure on the two styles, but the ones pictured there are the ones I have (for the 2wd F150) and they work great..... and my X is 4wd.

No NO No jack those will not work they are junk but to help you out ill pay you 5$ right now to take them off your hands !

=)

i know nothing bout them besides i want some

Well I also have a set of the polyeurothane coil spacers but they are huge and I got no stud extender with them so they sit unused still. I may try to get those to work also.

So it was no big deal that the center hole was offset and the prong fit just fine? Do the coils sit on top of them just fine?

yeah, they work great. just make sure the the point "thing" sticking up is facing downward when you install them, b/c the coil sits on the side that the hole is on.... I sure hope that makes sense. but once they are installed on the truck and weight is back on them.... they sit centered.

You will see. The prong faces down and keeps the spacer from moving, It rides up against the radius arm ear.

The spacers will work perfect on your truck, like they were designed for it
You will re-use your coil retainer washer and bolt as well as the urethane coil seat.

Skip the urethane coil spacers, they dont fit the TTB coil as well as the F-150 "spring seats" shown there.

These will only work on a 4x4 ex, a 2wd requires the use of 4x4 coil/radius arm bolts......

hockey pucks

I have the poly spacers. I believe they're meant for Jeeps, I had to shave a lot off the top lip to get them to work, but they do.

Yep I have a set of the poly spacers as well. I put them on and the bolt didn't even come throught the top of the poly spacer. I realized something was wrong at that point and set them back on the shelf. I later found out that I needed a stud extender or longer bolt. No big deal.

I bought my buddies and litterally all I had to do was remove my old spacer slip it over bolt and put the plastic coil alignment on and bolt it all down. These with the prongs seems a little more complicated.

same deal, the prongs just make them fit better....

there are pics on this site somewhere.....

Search for em.

these spacers are ideal for the D35 TTB.....

I searched the site endlessly today for pics but found none. I found a lot of pics that weren't showing up and may no longer be available.

So my main question is then which spacer goes on which side. I mean since the center hole is offset do I want the offset on the inside of the radius arm or on the outside of the radius arm.

Well I did find a few pics on the ranger station but it had the prongs sitting in what appeared to be perpendicular to the Ibeam on one side and I think the outside of the radius arm on the drivers side but facing towards the rear of the vehicle.:( :(

I guess if I knew on which side the offset hole was to go it would not matter to me.

Here is what I found is this what I want to do??

they are marked L and R from the factory are they not? hahaha

hte little peg goes to the rear, there was a perfect pic of this...let me look.

I ahd the same ? when I installed mine, but 1/2 an hour later they were on. ZThey can only go one way, as long as you realize that the peg's purpose in life is to rest up against the radius arm ear to keep it in place (from turning)

AHA:D :lightbulb:

I noticed that one has a blueish mark on it just like the picture and that appears to be the drivers side so I can now orient them correctly and not have to worry I have them on the wrong side.

And to think I was trying to rub off that blue patch thinking it was some idiots finger mark or something.:D

that picture above shows it perfect.

Drivers side, blue mark, peg to the rear up agains the radius arm ear.

Cant go on wrong is what I am saying!!!

Make sure you get your coils seated properly when you are done!!!

Also you will have mad alignment issues, yo uwill need SHIMS.........
can we say positive camber?

Oh and yes there was a L and R on them but you would have to be pretty smart to figure that one out.

I was just thinking that the 4x2/L and 4x4/R were meaningless.:D

DOH!!!!!

HEY, YOU STOLE MY PICTURE!!! Haha, I'll let it slide this time :p

Mad alignment problems........haha Well on my other one I loosened the pinch bolt and spun the bushing then adjusted my toe and wallla! No need for new camber bushing!! I drove it for a while and listened for tire noise and checked tire wear and I was good. Maybe I got lucky, but my buddy did the same thing and he did n't have to get new camber bushings.

Now on my lifted 91 I bought some Skyjacker 3 something degree camber bushings for a BroncoII but after adding the spacers my camber came back in and I never had to install the skyjacker ones so on the shelf they went.
