You sir are right. Seems to be where the hoses. Go, chasing a leak under the motor and wonder if I had an oil cooler. The tranny cooler lines were at loose, but I have a feeling the leak is the rear main or around there the further I crawl back.
I thought the little PITA hose was eliminated in late 97 or 98? I don't remember seeing one on my 99 V8 that's just chilling on a frame atm, just the silver bracket bolted to the block. I must be off base somehow.
Funny Chris, I fought those parts last year when I tried to install an oil cooler. I discovered that the short POS hose cannot go on with the WP in place. I was only trying to fix an oil leak(the filter adapter o-rings), so I swapped to the cooler adapter version. I put the non-cooler adapter back on, I think the right way to do it is to put the short hose on together with the WP.
The oil cooler ended in late 98's.
To the OP, tighten the trans cooler rubber hose clamps slightly, those often leak at this age. TO find a leak, follow it to the front most part, and up. The leaks always run down and back, and they multiply eventually.
