i am from NH around Concord

There used to be some good stuff up in N. Conway and further north. I havent been wheeling in a while so I dont know if there are still trails. I know there is some good stuff in Bethel, Maine.

Where in Bethel? and how modified does my truck need to be? could a stock handle it?

I go to school in NH, UNH-Durham

I'm in Southern NH near Nashua. I have never been off-roading before. How much can I really do in an unmodified Mountaineer? There are a lot of jeeps that go out beneath the powerlines in Milford, and they come back really muddy. I've looked at those trails, and don't think I'd want to risk it.

This should be a new thread how off road can you go with a stock Explorer?

Im not sure about where in Bethel the trails are, I know they are rated between 1-7 so some of them get pretty tough. I have never actually been up there to go wheeling. I had talked to some people and they said it is a good place to go. Ill try to get you some more info and let you know.

Hey there. I am from New Durham, NH and work in Portsmouth, NH. The only 4 wheeling I have done around here is on snowmobile trails keeping them up. I went with my 99 Ranger Off-Road, stock. That went good. I traded that. I now have a 94 Explorer Sport, loaded, stock. I haven't been with that yet. My brother has told me of a off-road park in NH. I will ask him to find out about it and I will post later.

I hate to be the Bearer of bad news but any wheelin in NH is Illegal ....... I ask you to please refrain from wheelin in NH untill some of the Local clubs can get LEGAL access to various trails. We are making great strides as it is, if your caught on trails that we are trying to re-open, then all our work will be for nothing.

MDCSoft, The trials in your area are able to be done with some slight modifications but I would ask you not to, due to the work we are doing at possibly getting this area re-opened. Last year I was on this trail that you mentioned and I was basically stock. I had some small trail damage but all was repairable.

I ask you all to go here and join the New Englan On-Line Wheelers Forum.

Also with in the Week I will be named the New England Chapter Cooridnator(or something of that nature) for the East Coast Explorers.

Any Questions you might have, feel free to e-mail me.

OH yeah by the way I am from Nashua NH.

Damn, when did wheelin in NH become illegal, I havent been wheeling up there for about 5 years because I was away at college and didnt have time. You know when they passed these new laws Cboug? It's too bad cause I used to have a blast up there.

this does not apply for ATVs and dirtbikes right?

Well good luck CBoug76 getting trails back open.

If you know someone with a lot of land and they will let you go riding there. My father in law lets me ride through his 85 acres. It isn't bad. Better than not going. If you are into snowmobiling join a club and volenteer. They are always looking for help maintaing trails. They will let you bring your X with you if you help. As long as you carry equipment in the back.

Jokeman,
I believe that it is illegal to wheel on Power line access roads, and other areas, Im sorry I do not know any more then that. I believe that this all has taken place win in the last 2 years or so...

tristram77,
I believe that it only pertains to 1000 lbs or higher vehicles.

GenLee01,
Thanks, There are a few people that are looking in to purching a large piece of land to make a private get-a-way for its 4x4 investors.
