run it under the carpet and plastic molding. it takes like 20 minutes to hide that stuff inside the cab.

Run it on the roof...........no one inside will ever notice.

I tucked mine into the wheel well flares
you know, where the flares meet the body, just like where the carpet meets the wall in da crib!

Seriously though, :)

Doug is right. A 30 minute job, just run them under the carpet. The trim panels come off easily enough. Just run the RCA's down one side and the power down the other so there is less chance of interference.....

Good luck man

thanks for the replies

I actually ran the power wire under the truck because i was to lazy to find/make a hole in the firewall. There's a bunch of rubber grommets on the bottom of the body, I just found one in the back and the power wire comes out from underneath the driver's side sailpanel in the back.

Do It Under The Carpet That Is Where I Ran My Wires For Y Power Inverter Under The Rear Seat And The Cables For The Xbox Under The Rear Seat Also...

and remember wire hangers are your friend :)

yeah i was kinda wondering where to get the power wires in to the cab through the fire wall, and how many amps is it safe to pull off of a stock alternator

I used in two explorers now of my own and two of friends - a rubber grommet, actually its rather large pretty directly under the steering column if you lift up the carpet. I'm thinking either the e-brake or the hood latch goes through it, but I cant remember without looking again. I managed to fit 2 runs of 1/0 AWG and one 4 AWG through there so you shouldn't have any problems.

I've pulled as much as ~600 amps before - but that was dropping voltage to sub 10v range which will cause problems if you're not careful. I think the stock alts were either 95 or 130? Do a battery upgrade, and the "big 3" for starters as well.

Run your power wires along the stock wire loom and the speaker/RCA wires along the opposite side. Whatever you do, don't run the wires down the tranny hump, across the "foot path" of the floor, across the cargo floor or anywhere they can be crushed by feet or cargo. Also, and to some this may sound stupid since the wires will be hidden. Put all your wires in split-loom. It will help with abrasion resistance and if done right, most people won't be able to tell your install from the stock wiring harness. It may be hidden, but you'll know its there and its done right.
