Where to find Front Receiver....

Hi:

I'm looking for a front end receiver for my 1997 Explorer 5.0.

I've been looking around and can only find stuff for 1999+ Will it fit? Or do I have to keep looking?

You can build your own using an old hitch or two, thats what I did.

Well, junk yard a couple of hitches and buy a welder.

I don't know of anything pre made beyond what is on www.etrailer.com

If you want to build your own, I can tell/ show you the basic idea and what kind of hitches to get.

i thought it was etrailer, but i have seen front hitches for 95-01 X's somewhere ill search around

has shown below he made a tow hook for it, it says in the book that they are used to back a trailer into garage or w/e its pry alot easier to hook the trailer to the front when puting trailer in tight spot. they have bike racks and stuff like that, they have a winch plate that goes into the reciver too so u can have a removable winch, with creativity you make make it do lots more tuff i suppose

I bought one for my 2003 Sport Trac from www.eTrailer.com that was the cheapest I found and it was made by Draw-Tite. I got my front reciever for the case that I may need to be pulled by the front of my pickup and I wouldn't have to worry about someone ripping of my plastic bumper. My main reason (but due to having a long time case of Fundsarelow diease) was to buy a Multi-Point Winch for my pickup. Maybe next Income Tax Refund!!!
