Hi guys, i don't post many questions here and i tried looking for this all the way from posts in'99.

The bleedin' Chiltons manual doesn't show the location clearly. I tried crawling under the truck looking for it under the driver's seat area, but it wasn't there.

BTW, this is a 95 4x4. Anyone know where the filter is exactly? Thanks in advance. I need help fast since i already bought the filter...hehe.

Oh, two more things. The filter i bought came with two plastic things....what are they??
What should i look out for when replacing the filter?

It's tapered on one end.

I think it is located under the frame around the drivers door area.

God...i must be blind because it's seriously not there. Hmmmm.....i'll go scout around one more time, but i didn't expect it to be so hard to find to begin with... :(

Some Explorers have a small skid plate over the fuel filter so you might have that. It should be located on the frame rail. Try following the fuel lines from the gas tank to the filter.

Its right under the drivers side door inside the frame rail Its held in with a black clip thats riveted to the frame.
Rememebr that you'll need the little plastic clips to relase the filter form the hard lines. and the filter will only go in the cradle one way so you cant screw up the direction of flow.

Good luck, wear saftey glasses,

Doug

Whatever you do de-pressure the system before you un clip the filter, if the 95 is the same as mine it is scary if you dont. oh yea there should be what looks like a valve stem on the fuel rail use this to let the pressure off. GOOD LUCK
