Which alt should I get?

I'm looking into upgrading my alt (stock 90amps) due to my system running 1300+ watts. My friend told me he could hook me up w/ a good deal on an alternator. Which one should I get provided that I am not upgrading my system in the future??? Reasons?? Thanks.

160amps (up to 100@idle) - $142
200amps (85-105@idle) - $170

PS.....I'm a college student so money is scarce

It all depends on how much your amp draws. I bet you have about 30 reserve amps.... so if its a 100 amp amplifier, I would get the 160 amp alternator. You would be right at your limit there, so a good cap would be a good idea.
Otherwise, the 200 amp is your best best.

I'm not sure how much my usx1000f draws but it has a 60amp fuse on it....my pg zx450 says it draws 55amps continuous and 80 @peak...So 160amp alt would be cool??
