I know I have a bad CV Joint. I get the grinding and popping with turn AND braking(I find that suprising) at slow speeds. Ford can't find anything wrong with it(again suprising?). They had it up on the lift with the tires spinning with no sounds, as did I. But the sound happens at ride height.

I'm fed up with dealing with Ford and I'm going to pay out of my pocket to get this fixed before I go off to school instead of letting my extended warranty take care of it.

My question is, which CV joint is it? The one on the driveshaft or the few dozen(ha ha) that are on the half shafts?

Thanks for the help!

More than likely the halfshafts, in which case I would just replace both. I got some Cardone Select CVs from Rock Auto for about $80 apiece brand new. They are supposed to be "high performance" and they've served me well for 600 miles so far.

Cool. I'm just wonder about the driveshaft one because it seems as though thats a common failure in the AWDs.

You could eliminate the driveshaft CV joint from possibility, by removing the shaft. If the noise remains, then it is definately the axles. Autozone rebuilt axles are about $70, good luck,
