which headunit is the best?

Well its finally gotten to the point where I just hate my old Sony headunit. Its geting pretty old and has like no features and looks ugly as well. I have been doing some research and I think I have narrowed it down to two.

PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO RECOMMEND SOMETHING ELSE, I AM TRYING TO SEE WHICH IS THE BETTER OF THE TWO, NOT WHAT UNIT IS BETTER THAN THOSE.

The first one on my list is the Pioneer DEH-P660. The graphics look really cool, but I am not sure what kind of features it has.

Choice #2 is the Alpine CDA-9827. The features sound really nice, but I like the display of the Pioneer better.

So does anyone have any experience with either of these units? Which is the better quality unit? Which has the best features? and for that matter, what features does the Pioneer unit have? If you have either unit in your truck, feel free to post some pics of it. Thanks guys.

Personally i would choose the pioneer. It has more power, and alittle bit more audio tuning options. if you wanna know what features it has look at this
Click i know thats the 6600, but the premier edition just has a better warrentee. So thats my take on it

Ok after checking over the specs on crutchfield. I am defintiley leaning more towards the Pioneer. Thanks.

definately go for that pioneer. if you really wanted alpine, i'd never suggest that particular model to you. 7995 was a great hu, but only 4 volt preouts, and for SQ purposes it requires an external amplifier.

i noticed you were shopping on crutchfield. you can try www.ikesound.com it will most likeyly have that HU much cheaper, heck with the money you save you might be able to get a better HU...

Good call on the IkeSound.com! They have it listed for $175 which is awesome. My last day of work is Thursday so this is all pending my job pre-interview tomorrow and setting up my interview. If all goes well, this unit will be heading to my door.

Well the paperwork has been filled out and my formal interview should be Friday morning. The manager told me that he would love to have me there so looks like things are going well. Meanwhile I have come into a little extra scratch so the unit has been ordered and will be on its way. I will update with pics lata!

Yeah, I've always liked pioneers. Well, except for their 1996 to 2000 era of total crap. But they are back on top again and have some nice models. If the alpine doesn't have an internal amp, that is actually a big plus if you planned on using external; amps anyway. That just means there isn't extra electronics in the dash taking up space and heating up things. I had/have a really nice alpine that will go in a car again one day, but found the sound to be just a touch harsh compared to my beautiful pioneer...

i just bought the deh-p8mp. i cant friggin wait until it gets here.

my brother just put the deh-p7600mp in his 2004 X, its a pretty great radio. but mine is better

Mine was supposed to arrive on Wednesday, but turns out UPS wants a signature and I have been on vacation until yesterday night. According to UPS it should be delivered today, so when I put it in I shall break out the digital camera.

Well, I put the unit in and all I can say is WOW! This thing is awesome! My old unit was a Sony from 1999. There is such a difference in sound quality its amazing. My old unit did not have subwoofer outputs which really made a huge difference when I used them on the Pioneer. After fiddling with the settings for a few hours, I have it sounding pretty darn good, but I still don't know how to use a good amount of the features. I don't have any pics cause the digi cam is still packed away from vacation. Awesome unit!
