Which motor SOHC or OHV?

sorry for double posting- but red, we already both have a 97 XLT .... if yours is black with a metalic purple pinstripe then we have the same truck. I also agree about when you put it to the floor for the first time. It is awesome!

heres just a quick Q , will a snorkel give my the same sound and performace that a k&n will?

Depends on the design. I used 3" PVC and have a ram-air set-up run into elipse shaped intake with a conical K&N filter... i dont think you can get much more airflow even with a good ol run-of-the-mil K&N kit, not to mention those kits arent good for water- ask carlos about that (sapogmxr)

Nuts, mine is champagne with green/beige pinstriping. I like the sound of yours though, black is an awesome color for an X!

BTW Todd, one of the guys in the x club I'm in put a S/C on his Mountineer and it fits fine under the stock hood. He's on here some too, his nic is GTA357. There are a bunch of pics of it up on the sXc site. Other than wheels and tires it's pretty stealthy.

don't give him any more ideas, he already has his foot into the gas enough... :p:

Sweet! We have a ton of champgnes over here in Reno...the grill guard and Hellas somewhat set it apart but it doesn't show the dirt! ;)
You can't beat a good gloss black, especially on a bright, clear day.
