BFG A/T KO - 31x10.5x15 - Around $475 shipped

You might get a little rubbing with those but going with a 30" tire won't rub. It'll be a little cheaper too.

thanks alot im going to take a look at them now

hmm they are nice but maybe something more mud digger? im new to this but i want something very capable so i dont get stuck as easily lol

So I've heard, the A/T KO's handle very nicely in all the areas you've mentioned, but if you're looking for something with a little more bite, check out the MT's. A little more aggressive/louder on the road and a little more exspensive also.

now thats what im talking about !!! lol thanks alot =) do we know the speed rating on these by any chance?

that probably isnt a problem ive only done that once or twice that i know of and it wasnt much over it was 94 mph so id probably be ok thanks again for the help guys

Check out the Kuhmo Venture MT's.

I have found that they outperform the BFG's in almost all circumstances and they are less costly. I have run mine in Wisconsin, Kentucky, and Moab all with great performance and long life. They work great on the trails and will stick better than a lot of other tires including the BFG's. I run side by side with a buddy that has the 31 BFG MT's and I climb stuff he just spins on - plus his BFG's were new a year after my Kuhmo's and they are already shot - while mine are at about 50%. To me it is a no-brainer...

i just found the kuhmo's for 86$ not bad being that i paid about 120 for goodyear wrangler rts's but do these kuhmo hold up to dry pavment? 80% of the time? i know i might sound like a "poser" or what ever but i just started wanting to off road and my buddy in his 2002 toyota tacoma goes to the beach and i want to be able to show him up lol i found my truck is more capable in snow then his is and thats with my wrangler rts's so again thanks everyone for the input

Wow those are inexpensive... I'm going to do a little more research on these. I might be interested in them myself. I might just get the Kumho Road Venture AT KL-41 because I don't do too much off roading and I drive on highways quite a lot.

Are the MT's really that loud on road/how do they handle in all the seasons?

Like most guys, I also run my truck mainly on the street, but I expect great performance off road as well. The Kuhmo's have held up very well on the road. Just keep them aired up properly.

I have somewhere around 20,000 miles on my Kuhmos right now (the MT's) and they are at about half tread life. They get used HARD on rock and in mud on various sorts of mixed trails.

Most of the wear has come from running them aired down for extended lengths of time. Had I properly aired them up after each 4-wheeling adventure, they would be in even better condition, I am sure. My buddy that is running BFG's has serious sidewall cracks from running on the highway aired down. I have none of that in the Kuhmo's even though we ran side by side when he did that to his tires (in Moab). For trail use, I normally air down to 18 PSI. That seems to be the "magic number" in that the tires flex very well - grab hold of rock and mud - clean out well, and ride soft at that pressure. I don't have to get radical like the guys running the Swampers, etc., becase the Kuhmo's have a softer sidewall.

That casues a lot of people to wonder if they will blow out on hard trails. I have never found that to be a problem, and I have BEAT my tires off-road and never had a problem. They have various cuts, tread shaving, sidewall scraping, etc. consistent with hard use on rocky outcroppings, and never leak a drop of air, never go flat or suffer a puncture. I simply LOVE them on the street - they handle GREAT and are one of the best snow tires I have ever run.

Seeing as how I am a Wisconsin native, I know something about snow tires. I have lived long enough to have seen a wide range of tire types - from the old bias ply snow treads to the modern radials. The Kuhmo's would be the snow tire of choice for me. They are that good.

I run with other guys that have a wide variety of tires and the Kuhmo's hold their own with the best of them - and for an "all around" mud tire, they are, IMO the best I have run. Now, if you want pure mud - there are better tires... For pure rock - there are better tires - for pure sand, there are better tires, but all around - in mixed conditions, both East and West coast type runs, I like the Kuhmo's the best and they will be my next set of tires.

About the only thing I can say that is at all negative about the tires is that they tend towards a tad undersized (lack about half an inch in overall size from their ratings) and that they tend to make more noise as they get older. I can live with both things...

thanks everyone for soo much help looks like im gunna go with the kuhmo very inexpensive i guess doenst always mean not good thakns again

I think my next tires are going to be the Kumho's-- WAY cheaper than my ProComps!!

Btw, if anyone is looking for way cheaper tires (mock tires) that are the same tread designs but only made by a different company. You can get them at your local body shop. They have a magizine to order from. Another company's version of the BFG AT T/A KO's are only $67/tire!!!! I'll have to check on some of the other ones. You won't be able to brag about what kinda tire you bought to everyone but it's the same tire for half the price. My brother bought the BFG's and he said they lasted him over 40,000 miles (3 yrs) and would buy them again in a heart beat.
