We are open to more, the Mountaineer and Navajo. NOTHING else. No cars, no trucks, no other SUV's, etc... This is why we are making the club. The are a million other car and truck clubs that they can go join. Clubs for our vehicles are few and far between. We're about 1 out of 5 total.

Rules are looking good guys. Looks like a everyone has agreed they sound good. I'll work on changing them in the other thread.

Stickers should be mandatory. You need to be proud of your club and show others how proud you are by displaying a decal.

One other thing I don't like. My title! Online Moderator sounds kind of like I moderate a thread or something. (which I would like to do, but don't) Jim, we need to come up with a cooler name for us. ;)

BTW, how do you guys like the change in my signature? What if we all do that to show that we are members so everyone on this site will know. I'm sure we can sacrifice 2 of our 6 lines for it.

to clear things up a little...

Events are not just four wheeling. They can be anything. The rules are made to be able to handle membership expansion. If it reaches the point one day where you have 4 or 5 members (or even more!) in a 30 mile radius or so of each other, just gathering for a group photo op and eating some pizza or hanging out at a member's house can be considered an event.
When you contact your coordinator and try to get something going, they'll decide which members need notifying. If it's a big spend a day wheeling or spend a day at a large amusement park, then all members will be notified. If it's something small like go hang out, then only members in that locality will be notified.
See where I'm heading with this one?

Online moderator? (I don't like the way it sounds, we should think of something else) Basically I'm in charge of starting threads for club events and anything else club related.

Title

How about just plain old Event Moderator?

event moderator (or GOD j/k ;) ) works for me....

It's me again....did you miss me?? :)

I've continued to read up on this thread. It looks like you're having problems with the rules. Keep this in mind....."the goverment that governs least, governs best". If you're having problems getting people to agree with the rules, maybe you need to look at them again. I'm not saying I like the rules, or I don't....but rather than going gun ho into something...step back and take a look at everything.

Here's a few suggestions for ya......
I've seen a few people having a problem with putting stickers on their trucks. I can see where. Several people on this site are proud of their x's looks just as proud of being a member of the site. Something as longterm as a sticker maybe out of the question. Why not try a different type of sticker?? I know they make a type that will stick to the glass, but you can easly pull it off. The same type of stickers that the Garfield ones you see. Not that I've got one. :)

Another one I've heard problems on the "conduct" of the members. I can see where you would like to keep the conduct of everybody on the high side, but loosen up. Unless you wish to make this a 24/7 headache... Sit back and enjoy it. Take a look at what you agreed to when you signed up for the site. If we all would follow this all the time....we'd all be in trouble.

"Annoying and obnoxious behavior (to be determined by the Administrator or Moderators) will receive 2 warnings. If this behavior continues, a ban of 2 weeks will be the implemented. Beyond that, instances will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. "

The bad seeds will be one in a few.....so I would put that much weight on that one, if it's used at all.

Of coarse there's the biggy!! Making the meetings.

This one maybe tuff...do you want to make the rules for today, or for the future?? You may suffer a small loss in members at the current time if you say you must make the meetings, but after a few years it will help you gain a membership of people that are active. If you do the other way around you're membership will increase now, but you'll have some members not active. It's a double edge sword. It's up to you.

I've read over the rules and to be honest with you, some of them are not needed. The one about illegal activity may be a bit uncalled for. I see where you're going with it, however illegal activity isn't ok anywhere. I think that one is common since.

Any other questions or ideas I can help you on just give me a ring.....I'm here to help.

BTW....monkey boy(you know who you are).....I'll keep an eye out for you. I'm almost always on the chat room...I'd like to talk to you tonight. :)

God... Hmm... I think I like it! LOL!
Event moderator sounds good, I'll go with that.

I'll work on the rules again tonight after I get off of work. I'm more for the side of having many active members in the future as opposed many inactive members right now. Who's with me on that one?

About all these coordinators...

Someone told me a very good phrase that is a problem with our club: "Many cheifs, few indians." I agree completely.

I think we should solve this problem and break the Chapters into the following:

Carolinas Chapter
North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia
coordinated by Jason_25

Virginia Chapter
Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland
coordinated by yob_yeknom

PennEx Chapter
Pennsylvania, Deleware, New Jersey
coordinated by JDraper

New York Chapter
New York, Connecticut, Vermont
coordinated by 4wheelin

New England Chapter
Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island
coordinated by CBoug76

NO MORE CHAPTERS OR LEADERS UNTIL MEMBERSHIP GROWS!

Chapter Coordinators: If you have a better name for your Chapter, just email me and I'll change it.

Possible new members: Contact the Chapter Coordinator for your location for membership info.

Hey Hey! Im ready to join any Raliegh area clubs, or head one up.

Jason_25 He's the coordinator for that chapter, contact him.

ANYONE LOOKING TO BECOME A NEW MEMBER!!

PLEASE CONTACT THE COORDINATOR FOR YOUR AREA ABOUT MEMBERSHIP.
In an attempt to save server space on this site, I'm asking everyone to e-mail their membership inquiries to the Coordinator for their area. This way we do not have too many posts here simply stating that someone wants to become a member.

Also, please read through both entire threads. This thread itself, and the other one that is linked to here. Most questions have already been answered.

Thank you for your enthusiasm in our new club,
John

I would first off thank everybody who has worked so hard on this new Explorer Club. While at this point not much has been formed, there are several ideas that need to be got across.

Rather than having several "leaders" all over the area it's best to have a select few to lead the members towards the goal. The five people John has selected have put work into this club and they're willing to do what it takes to make it work. They are now looking for people to assist them in gaining new members from all over. At this time just about everybody is welcome to join the club. The way that is set for you to join is go ahead and find the coordinator and drop them an email stating your desire to become a part of the club. They will get the info from you to put up on their website and off you go. :) Please direct any other questions you may have towards your local coordinator, John, or myself. While I currently do not live in the area, I'm more than willing to do anything to help. Besides...who knows....I too may end up back east.

Thank You
Lee

Anyone who does go to a car show or something expecting to show off our club should try to keep his/her ride looking nice though.

None taken. I'm just getting a little worried about the fact that we have so many different people wanting to coordinate a Chapter, but so few members to fall into them. I don't think we should start breaking the Chapters into smaller ones until the membership in that Chapter reaches over 20-25. If you guys will just trust me on this one, I too will not let you down. There's a bigger picture to look at and it's hanging on the wall straight in front of me...

On a different note... We all need to sit back and think about what it means to be a Coordinator. We are not 'leaders' or 'presidents' or 'rulers'. We are Coordinators. We need to make sure all other members think of us like that. Our job is not to tell the members what to do, but to take on the responsibility of getting in contact with each of our members and letting them know whats going on in their area. Being a Coordinator needs not to be looked at as a title, but a responsibility.

If only I'd been on this board during highschool... I would've gotten much better grades in English... :)

Awesome looking decal....I like the way it looks on the side windows. I'm Up 4 it.

You can put me down for 2 of them.
