who makes a 31" tire for a 17" wheel?

guys, i'm still lost. i was looking at 17'' bullit rims, and i'm wondering what the biggest possible tire i could get on there was without trimming. i don't want a street, lowered look, i just want a gap filling tire on the bullits.

perfect. i didn't have to trim and no rubbing at all. and they fill the gap between the tires and fenders nicely. i basically want he same look and height that i have now with my stock 15'' teardrops and 31's, just with 17'' rims and whatever size tires that would fit without rubbing or major trimming.

A 31" tire will be taller on a 17" rim then on a 15" rim. For istance, my 35s are truely 35" tall when on the truck. The same tire on a 15" rim will usually come out to being around 33" tall, all said and done. Just an FYI. If you find a metric size that's 31.5-32" tall, then you should be good to go.

do you think a 265/70/17 would fit without rubbing?

it converts to:

diameter: 31.6 section width: 10.4 section height: 7.3

That will ultimately depend on the back spacing of the wheels. The bullit rims have quite a bit of positive offset. You may need spacers to get the rims and tires out just a bit to the edge of the fenders. I cannot remember but I'm thinking it'll be close.

This most likley won't be a prob as you have a sport. My TT gave me about 1.5 inches.

Mounted on the 17 X 8 the tire measures 31.1 x 10.3

My wheels have around 4.7 inches of backspace so the tire sticks out about an inch and a half over stock.

I rub on the sway bar slightly at full lock.

I will have some pics this weekend so hopefully I figure out how to get them up

That was measurements on a 265/70/17

I have a pic of what I cut if I only knew how to link it.

Basically you cannot even tell where I cut the board. It is on the lower inside or teh front of running board, there is a part that sticks out like a fang took about 2 minutes and a shear scissors to cut off as it is just plastic.

These AT REVO tires absolutly rock!!!! Quiet ans Quiet gets, handled phenominal in the foot of snow we got the other day when the roads were plowed for sh*& becasue it was coming down so fast. It tried to get them to slide and slip and had very little luck slamming on the brakes from 45 yielded no anti-lock action, felt very much in control @ 50-60 on the highway in the snow and slush...prolly could have gone faster but didn't want to push it. No problems at intersections that were slippery as hell with others sliding around

Note the speeds driven were for test purposes not what I would normally drive.

The best part is they cost $580 for 4, only proble was I had to have them rebalanced ... darn tech

nole, those are 265/70/17 right? but you have shackles too right? i'm wondering if they would fit on bullet rims on my X without shackles. i can do a TT no problem, but i don't really want to put shackles on. thanks.

Yes they are 265 70 17. I did shackles and an AAL, to level out the TT. If you jsut do a TT your front will be higher than the rear. The shackles and AAL cost $80 and about 2.5 hours to install. My rear end was saggy so wanted it up so I went with teh shackle and AAL.

I will take a pic of my clearance with my wheels turned and post back to give you a better idea. You might get away with no TT. Now that I am done tweeking mine it has settled and been leveled out; I ended up with an inch of TT up front.
