Does anyone know if a 31" tire will fit where the stock spare tire goes on a first gen sport?

I have heard that it will fit, but I am not sure. I need to find out also, but I have a reciever hitch getting in the way to worry about also.

Yeah, barley. You need the stock spare rim also.
Mine fits but I had to slightly bend a few things for it to sit right. When I need it(as I found out) it sticks & I needed to hit it to come down with the cable reel. Hasn't come off. I drove 3K+ miles & it was fine. Off road is fine as well.
I will suggest you replace the cable reel if your going to do this. The last thing you want is to not be able to get the spare out because of a frozen cable reel, or have the cable snap because of age & the added weight of the 31.
The hitch will block it. You would have to cut out the sections of the hitch to make it fit.

Thanks. I don't have a problem bending a couple things to make it fit but I am going to keep the cable reel. I was looking at it today and it looks like new. I don't think there will be a problem with the added weight either. My truck is in pretty good shape with very little rust.

i have a 31x10.50 in the spare and it fits fine. didnt need to bend anything but i did use the stock rim.

mine fit no problem, 31 X 10.5 when I had a sport
I now have a 33 X 10.5 on my four door, had to notch the bumper a bit to get it to fit though.

Great. Thanks. Now I just need to find a used 31" tire
