let's say I'm looking to replace my stock 255/70/16 with 31/10.5/15....... will I be going bigger or are these two the same? - suppose I'm talking about the same tire brand and type.....

what is the true 31" tire diameter?

or perhaps I should go to 32" since I just added an AAL and I'm gonna twist the front a bit?

thanks !
:)

toss on the 32........ :)

this is my wife's daily driver...... I don't want to scare her by putting 32's...... 31X10.5 would be fine........ IMHO 31's might not be much higher than 255's that I have right now but should be wider....... and that's what I want ----- these are going on 15X8 new alloy rims....

I need to know true dimmensions of a 31" tire....

255/70/16 is 30.2" in diameter...... what is 31" tire in diameter? I kind of doubt it's true 31".....

im pretty sure its 30.5

But different companies may make the size vary. I know people that could ft pirelli's but couldnt fit BFG AT KO's

My Michelin LTX ATs are 30.9". They are only about 1/2" smaller in diameter than my friends 32" BFG AT's. And mine are about 1" taller than the 255/70 16 Michelin LTX MS's on my moms 99 XLT.

265/70/16 should be VERY close to what your lookin for. i know 265 is 10.5" wide, and the aspect ratio just changes according to its number and amount of sidewall. check the math on that. but then again some tire companies are different and 265/75/16 is more than likely 31.5 x 10.5" all tire companies are different, Uniroyal says my tires are exactly 32" so.

did I say 265/75? maybe not....... I got 255/70/16 Good Year Wranglers........ now after the TT and AAL these tires look kind of small...... wider rims and 31" BFG's should do the trick

BTW.... after the AAL the rear went up more than 2.5" and all I could get in the front was 1.5" more than stock.... so got the "nose down" kind of look now....... I'm not too happy with it but hell - it rides better now.
