Who on here had installed a light-up Ford emblem on their rear hatch?

A while back I was reading a thread, and looking at pics, and saw this guys explorer, which he had bought a "light up" ford emblem, and ive searched on here for like a week, and even hoping maybe the picture would be up top where it shows like 5 photos across, I wanted to know who it was, so I could ask him where he got it, ive looked on ebay, and even searched on google for one, but nothing....i mean NOTHING comes up for it....


Any info would be appreciated, and sorry for posting this ridiculous thread, but I really couldnt think of any other way, MODS feel free to delete it when someone finally says where i could pick one up at...

Everything I have seen while searching for Lighted Ford Logos nad Lighted Ford Emblems seen says they production was discontinued somewhere around 2005 and 2006. So they are more or less impossible to find. I will keep looking and see if someone else started making oen.

Yea, you replace the actual ford emblem on the tailgate, so it would work really with any car, as long as it was the right size emblem, then im guessing you just thread the + and - wires through, and splice them into the taillight; and it would come on with your lights

As I remember they didnt last long. Lights burned/shorted out or something. Plus they were expensive.

Ah, well thanks for the info, as I posted that first link, i went back to it, and read that they were discontinued....

I wonder how hard it would be to make your own...Probably not worth it really

I wanted one for my rear hatch, plus I dont think cops would really care, I have blue corners, and slightly tinted blue marker lamps up front, let alone 10k HIDs, and blue LED strips in the interior

I actually like this idea.. I think i may even go out to a junkyard and get a cheap-o emblem and attempt to create my own. It cant be much harder than what i did to my old XBox's. I think that I'd wire it into my license plate lighting tho.

I kinda like this. You could hook it up to a switch so its on and off when you want it then you dont have to worry about cops (to a degree lol).

i actually liked it. but i guess as a purist maybe best left alone. i thought bout painin it too with an ST bandana theme to it but decided against it. maybe when i got extra money ill go down to the boneyard and get some extra badges and crap
