That is the Explorer Express vehicle (I think they shop/show vehicle).. Looks like that picture was taken at Truckhaven 2000

Order a catolog from explorer express it has a right up on that explorer it's sweet.

But does anybody know what kind of tires and/or rims that Explorer has, you know, without having to order a catalog?!

Thanks

Those are Pirelli Scorpion Zeros (P275/55 VR17) mounted on 17x9 Ford Motorsports Cobra R wheels. Heh heh heh...

Thanks a lot man (FlyAU), that's all I needed to know! That Explorer really does look kick ass, like the scoop a lot on the hood, probably keeps the 5.0 V8 real cool!!

Good Night!

The rims are directly from the Ford Mustang Cobra's. The are called the Cobra R wheels. The wheels are 17x9 and they will fit directly on the Explorer, but I heard that the front will need the 3/16 wheel space. This is due to the width on the wheel and it keeps is from rubbing the inner fender wheel well on a sharp turn. The tires are Pirelli Scorpion Zeros. The ones that is outfitted on Explorer Express is the 275/55R17.

That scoop is actucally a cover that goes on top of the hood. Explorer Express calls it a hood blister

hood blister $149.95
tires $191.95
rims $229.95

No prob Dell!

jason

do they make the hood blister for a 93 sport?

They show that the hood blister is only for 95-00.

BTW, that hood blister (ExplExprs) is non-functional. Jegs has some pretty good scoops and blisters that you could stick on and cut a hole in the hood. The only thing with any mod like that is that you have to get it painted; that can be expensive.

I was thinking about getting a cowl induction hood to vent heat out towards the winshield. There are ones made for later model Rangers, but I think the Ranger and Explorer hoods differ after 94.

damn

that sucks

look at it closely

hey man, those are cobra r wheels. stock mustang wheels. you can also get them in chrome and i think polished. as for the tires, you can get some z rated uni-directionals that would look even sweeter than those. and they last forever.-russel

So, for sure, I would need to do some work on the inner fender wheel well for these tires to work? Is it really worth it to get these tires? I was really intrested in just getting the 2000 16` Limited Rims from Ford and popping on some BFG K/O. I like the look of the tire, and I really like the look of the rim! Will I have any problem stepping up to a 16` tire and rim from a 15` tire and rim?

Thanks

The tire won't be a problem. The the Cobra R wheels will fit fine for the rear, but the front will need those spacers because the wheels are 17X9..the width on the "9" inch is little wide. As far as going with the BFG's in a 15 or a 16 inch. The BFG's in 15 inches are cheaper..thats what most people say on here. Just depends on your taste and wallet.

quick question

Will the wheels from a cobra mustang fit on a explorer? What I want to do is to take the wheels from a totaled cobra mustang (around 98') and put them on my 96' sport.

Later,

Drew
