OKay this is a very touchy subject for me i usually wear my seatbelt but...... in my accidenthttp://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=101605
I did not have my seatbelt on and thats what saved me from any damage.... If i had a seatbelt on i would of had my ehad crushed with the seat becuse the seatbelt would of held me against the seat. But since i didnt have one on when the first inicial hit happened i got lunged over to the side so im like on the arm rest then when it landed on the roof i was still int he same posistion so therefore the roof didnt hit me... so im jsut saying in some cases not many but some its better not to have one on.IMO

I've read all the replies, and I feel like I need to put my 2 cents in... First off, seatbelt or not, DRIVING IS DANGEROUS!! Whether or not you have a seatbelt on does not determine whether you get in a wreck. Everyone is focused on the guy in the video getting thrown around in the car. But what got him into the wreck in the first place? His first bad choice was to drive in his condition. Second bad choice was not wearing a seatbelt.

My point is, seatbelts dont cause wrecks. Bad choices cause wrecks, whether it be yours or someone elses. Please don't endanger yourself or others and get behind the wheel when you shouldn't (mental status/weather/condition of vehicle).

And wear your seatbelt ;)

we have had seatbelt laws for over 30 years and about 10% of people still dont wear them and if you and passenger are not wearing them & get busted loss of licence is possible but it is better than loss of life
as for the belt being uncomfortable is a poor excuse i spent 15 yrs as a truck driver travelling all over and not once did i think of it as uncomfortable
