Wierd unused Electrical Connector

I recently took off the door panel on my 05 XLT to try and fix the damn rattling it has when it goes over bumps. Anywho, Even though I didn't get a picture, there is an unused electrical connector/harness towards the top left side of the door. Anyone else take the panel off and notice this or knows that it is for? I'm baffled...


Also, since I'm here, when I go over speed bumps and uneven roads, my suspension often creeks or squeaks. Anyone know if this is a problem? Thanks!

Do you have the keypad? If not, it's probably the connector for that...

Your vehicle was assembled on an assembly line, using parts that are interchangeable with other similar models with different options. They use the same wiring harnesses in the same models, and if you have a particular option....it's plugged into a harness, if not...the harness is left unplugged.

I could point to at least a dozen open/empty connectors throughout mine....and I consider my SUV "loaded"

What don't you have?
Memory seats or Keypad are the only two things i can think of.
In researching the Radio, it more accurate to say the harnesses are all the same body side except for the Radio Harness. . .its the only thing i can find different part numbers depending on the Radio. . .ie Sub Harness is deleted if you don't have it, come on every other plug is there why can't they make it easy to upgrade the radio . . . lol. . .

Don't know about the connector, but the creeks and squeaks on bumps are probably the sway bar bushings and end links. They are not overly expensive to replace. Try shooting something like WD-40 on them and drive a day or so. If it quites down, that is it. Mine were noisy enough on my '97 I replaced them a couple of years back. Improved handling as well

I have no keypad or memory seats, so that's probably it. I also found one nest to the Sunroof motor, probably for the homelink thingie?

Also, where are they sway bar bushings and end links? Sorry for the noobish questions, but each one gets me that more knowledgeable.

The keypad wiring should be near the top left of the driver door as your looking at the door panel side, the memory mirror wire should be at the top right of the door. And yea, the extra two wire pigtail in the upper console in mine was for the homelink, which I installed, plug fit perfect.

...could also be for heated mirrors, too.
