IVE FOUND THE ANSWER TO ALL OF MY RIM WANTS
I found 22 inch spinning wire rims for less than half the price of the 20 inch spinners. I think ive found the answer

also would it be better to use some 305/40/22 Nitto tires? Or will the other ones be alright? If i do use the 40s will i still be able to drop it? I know thease questions are hard to answer, and i really appreciate yalls help.

Jay

a 305/40/22 is almost 32" tall. you probably wouldnt be able to run those with it stock height, and would probably have to lift it. not to mention the fact that a 305 is gonna rub on everything.

That tire is not the answer. Must get a smaller tire.

Hey James or Derek, could you post an overall height and width that you believe would work. Then this calculator could be used to determine which tire size is a good choice.

a 285/30/22 is about the only size ive seen in a 22 that would work. when i say "work", i mean fit with no or minor rubbing. most other sizes are just too tall to run with a drop on an explorer.

This gentleman here is running a 285/30/22 tire, which calculates to an overall diameter of 29 inches. He says he has no rub.

cool.....guess the 30s it is....man its goiung to be tight when i get it done.

would it be possible to run 24s if i had a slight slight lift? (and i mean slight so its barely noticable........I dont like lifted trucks)

You've lost all your marbles sir. It would take at least a 3-4 inch lift to fit 24s.

This is getting out of hand!

24's!!!! That would be something, not something smart but just something. You have enough problems with trying to stuff 22's, just try to stick with that size as the biggest you would ever even think of going.

a 305/35/24 would be almost the same height as a 33". im betting you could max out the torsion adjusters on the front and run an add-a-leaf and a shackle on the rear to get a 2-2.5" lift and they would fit with minor rubbing.

if you're going for the "baller" look, i can tell you this wouldnt be it.

You'd rub everything in sight with a 2.5 inch lift.

Dude, seriously, what are you thinking? 24s on a mid-size SUV? There is a line between going for the "baller" look and making outright dumb decisions.

dude im from the dirty south. people put 22s and 24s on everything from Impalas to old schools to even mustangs. ill probally stcik wit da 22s, only becxuz i want spinners, and i cant find 24 inch wire spinners

BTW just today i saw an explorer (2003) on 24s with a little bit of a lift......so im not the only one

Not to insult you, but I don't believe that.

Hold on I think i have a pic of it.....

ok i cant find it but if i see ol dude again (he was dropping someone off at my summer scxhool) ill try n get a pic

Wow, I would love to see that. I would love to know what kind of custom work went into that truck. It would all have to be custom since they dont even make lifts for the new Explorers. He must have had to trim something. You need to get him on this site.

Lifting a vehicle to fit bigger rims is rediculous to me. It seems your idols are these bling bling down south ghetto boys. My question is, why?
