Will 265/70/15 fit? Will they rub?

Has anyone tryed 265/70/15? Will it fit on stock 96 XLT 4WD? It seems that they are not much bigger than 30x9.5 (just wider, 29.6x10.4) Would they need to be mounted on wider rims?

The 265's are alot bigger . I have them on my ninety eight eddie baurer. They measure out to be 31.6x10.6 which if you went to get to get some thirty two eleven fifty's they would measure out to be the same. the answer to your question is not without rubbing . But you can go get your torsion bars turned and go to auto zone for 12 dollars and get some 8.5 inch shackles part# 81400 and I got about two to two and half inches of lift but it depends on the code torsion bars and inch shackles you have on it stock . The setup will probably cost you 50 dollars or so in the end . The two sixty fives look so much better though .

MrJones, you have 16" wheels, which is why your 265's are that much bigger. On 15" wheels, they are in fact 29.6", so the only difference for him would be that the tire would be one inch wider: and possibly a little bigger since a 30" tire is really closer to 29".

Danny, widening your tire just one inch would not necessitate changing the wheel. MrJones stock tire was a 255/70 so he has already gone one inch wider (do you have 265/70 or 265/75?). I plan to go even wider if that furschugginer Trailmaster lift ever comes out this millenium.

I am sorry I gave you all the wrong information mine are two sixty five / seventy five / r sixteens . not seventy . but my seventy fives do measure 31.4x11 and I am fixing to go to a 16x 8 or 10 inch wheel that will widen them on out some more sorry for the wrong info.
