well i've searched and searched but havent found my answer to this. as far as i can tell it would work. if anyone knows different please speak up soon. i'm buying my engine tomorrow that i'm going to rebuild for my 91 and i think i can get a lower mileage 96 4.0 ohv for the same price as the 91 engine they are selling.
you will need the ecm for a 96.91s dont have egrs or cam sensors and some other little things.you may be able to use the old intake from your 91 and swap some of the sensors.
