So here is a question, something I was thinking about. I had a mustang GT with a sweet sounding exhaust system . It had a 4.6 V-8 engine same as my sport trac.

So the question is if the sport trac has the same engine and I was to duplicate the exhaust that I had on my mustang GT would it sound the same. And yes I know the issues of dual exhaust but I know it can be done...

A Flowmaster 50 SUV, while not quite a Mustang system, adds a bit of throat. And, in that the sound of an engine can be "tuned" with the right exhaust, mimicking the system you previously had could work.

I can tell you that with the dual exhaust I put on with the Magnaflows, it sounds the same as my previous '05 GT. I'll try and get a video/sound clip up soon.

thanks that would be great

Yes, it would be very similar. The engine is the same as the 05-10 Mustangs except for the Intake design.

My setup is pretty radical, but the sound equals that of a Mustang. Getting ready to ditch the cats also, for even more exhaust flow, and a totally unique tone.

Keep the Cats

Now that high-flow aftermarket cats are widely available, I prefer to keep the pollution controls active, even though I don't have to get an emissions inspection where I live now. The cold hard fact is that automotive enthusiasts are a shrinking minority, and the Green Movement is growing rapidly. One thing that we can do to ensure that we don't get legislated out of existence is to make sure our rides can pass emission tests.

Back when the first aftermarket cats came out in the mid '80s, I fitted a pair to my '67 Camaro, just to see if it could work. It does. As a matter of fact, the sound of cats and glass-packs is really cool.

Remember that it was the EPA that made it possible for once-exotic electronic fuel injection and other power-adding goodies to cause a performance renaissance back in '86.

Every time I see a photo/video of your truck, my jaw drops all the same. Amazing work.

Prior to watching your link I was giggling because I thought you could make a Trac sound like a Stang, but not drive like one... That is, until I saw your rig.
F'me. Just incredible. Great work.
